I decided that I wanted to have a whole life insurance policy. I went through my job to have an advisor help me chose the best company to go with. Around September I made my choice to go with Mass Mutual and signed the paperwork with my financial wealth advisor. Everything was going great. I got an email on September 25th to fill out information on my medical history as well as scheduled the following week my medical exam.
I was informed that within 14 business days I should have a decision and my policy should be active. Well guess what happened....You got it right in 14 business days neither me or my financial advisor heard anything. Here we are the end of October going into November and Mass Mutual finally contacts my Financial advisor to say that the lab threw out my blood tests taken from my medical exam due to there was an error in the spelling of the name. The reason they didn’t tell me or my financial advisor before hand is due to Mass Mutual nor did the lab want to accept responsibility. So instead of taking accountability and just having me re-take my labs they instead thought to just not say anything for a month. Crazy right?
So my advisor finally convinced me that after talking to Mass Mutual to give them one more chance to re-take my lab results and that they stated Mass Mutual agreed to expedite my policy. Well guess what...Here we are now going into the second week of December and still no policy. Mass Mutual continues to tells my financial advisor that my policy is still in underwriting.
Take my advice and stay very clear of this company for any thing. They don’t take responsibility nor do they respond in a timely manner. I wouldn’t be as upset if they would’ve at least communicated with me or my financial advisor and let us know what is taking so long. This time I am actually contacting my financial advisor to go with a totally different insurance company because this is ridiculous.Monday 10th December 2018
